Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a treatment that can be done through light clothing. It is a series of movements that the therapist does over muscle, tendons, fascia and ligaments to help release the neural pathways increasing blood flow and energy. There are breaks during the treatment where the therapist leaves the room allowing the body time to find its own balance in its own time. The treatment is simple and minimalist. The moves are gentle and non invasive. After a Bowen move the brain is stimulated to check out the area that has been worked on and balance or adjust that area into a better position or functioning.

Bowen works by releasing Fascia

Fascia can stretch and contract. So when the body is stressed and in the state of fight/flight it will contract, however, by releasing the fascia, we can release the nerves, lymph and blood vessels. This helps to release accumulated waste from the adipose or fatty tissue by allowing the fluids to flow more freely.
